Air Cooled & Water Cooled Terminations
Ferrite offers a complete line of Air Cooled, Water-Cooled and Water Terminations which
operate within industry standard bandwidths and ranging in frequency from 200MHz to
30GHz. Many of the existing stand-alone designs were born from the need for terminations
to be used in conjunction with Ferrite's high power circulators.
All Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled "Dry" Terminations share the same basic design utilizing
an ultra-high temperature refractory ceramic as the microwave absorber encapsulated
within an intimately-fitted and welded housing for maximum heat transfer. Air-Cooled
designs required to manage extremely high powers are typically fitted with cooling fins.
Water Terminations are used in applications not reasonably addressed through Dry term-
ination technology where the water itself is used as the absorber (in combination with a
ceramic window) and power handling is limited only by the achievable water flow rate.
